Light the Wave – Unite the Community

With only two months left to raise $210,000, The Darien Lights Brigade (DLB) is making “Waves all over town”. Please support these fundraising events and help us get over the finish line. February 28 and March 2. Sono Field House is donating field space and Jeff Brameier and his premier boy’s staff are donating their instruction time to contribute to the goals of the “Lights Brigade” by offering boys high school (9-12th grade ONLY) preseason tune up clinics as a fundraiser. Open to ALL HS program players in Fairfield County! Clinics will be on: Tuesday – 2/28 (3pm-4: 30pm) and Thursday – 3/2 (3:30pm-5pm). There will be a registration fee of $30/session or $50/both sessions that will all go to the “Lights Brigade! The program is capped at 50 players per day – so please make sure to register to secure your spot and support this great cause and help reach the goal of a $2,500 donation.

March 5 Equinox is hosting a Spin Class of 42 bikes with the proceeds to be donated to the Lights Brigade. Contact Carla at Equinox to reserve a bike. Donation $100 per bike.

March 16 Lanphier is sponsoring a Day of Health and Beauty to support the Lights Brigade. 25% of the day’s proceeds will be donated to DLB. The salon is also offering consultations on hair, skin and makeup–$20/adult and $10/adult—100% of this money will go to the lights!

Several clients mentioned this effort to us and we feel it is a great fit. Giving kids more healthy choices and something the community has been working on a long time. We are excited to help.”

March 22Pure Barre will host a class with 100% of the proceeds going to the lights. Additionally, 20% of all retail products sold in the shop that day will also support the effort!

Kristin McClutchy, owner of Pure Barre of Darien says, “As a local business owner and Darien resident, I’m happy to support the fundraising efforts for the Darien Lights Brigade. Youth sports are incredibly influential in fostering important life skills and lesson, camaraderie and teamwork. We’re happy Pure Barre can help play a role in bringing this initiative to life.”

On March 23, Darien Social is hosting a Guest Bartending Night with Lisa Hingst and Julianna Spain. Gather friends and come for drinks at the bar. Families, come for dinner and be served by surprise waiters (think Darien Coaches). TIP BIG!

March 30, Morley will, for a second time, offer a day of shopping from 10AM to 8Pm topped off with a Cocktail party from 6PM-8PM with 15% of all sales being donated to DLB.

Carrie Delafield, owner of Morley’s, “We are new in town and already recognize the importance that these lights will be to the student-athletes and the community-at-large. We are more than happy to support the DLB’s efforts!”

April 1, Joyride has built 8 teams of 5 that will compete for prizes given to the teams who raise the most money for DLB.

April 20, Shake Shack is hosting a Darien Lights Brigade Day/Night. Look for an email or go to www.darienlightsbrigade.com and download your flyer and bring it with you for lunch and/or dinner. Shake Shack will collect the flyers and donate 15% of your order to the Lights Brigade.
