We’ve all been there. Bought that perfect sofa, amazing painting or beautiful side table, only to find that the color is wrong, it doesn’t really work in the room, or we just grow tired of it. Well, now there’s a cure for this wannabe decorator’s dilemma in Delve Décor, a new venture started by local businesswomen Kelli Cook and Heather Gaudio. Their company’s mission is simple: to help people buy and sell nearly new designer furnishings, and they’re doing it in style.
“We live in an area where people redecorate on a regular basis,” explains Gaudio, co-founder of Delve Décor and owner of Heather Gaudio Fine Art in New Canaan. Working with clients of all ages and sensibilities at the gallery, Gaudio realized the need for a business that helped people resell upscale, of-the-minute furniture and accessories, as well as a market for local designers to manage excess inventory. Her good friend Kelli Cook, who has a finance background and a passion for design, agreed and thought it would especially help clients who were updating or renovating. In addition, inventory should be well-curated for local clientele with a high level of customer service.
As a result, Delve Décor is becoming a one-of-a-kind marketplace in Fairfield County. Their online presence is strong, including a website that is chic, clean and easy-to-navigate. Above and beyond regular furnishings, they offer a stunning collection of artwork, unusual for many resale companies.
Most of what Delve Decor vends are large furniture pieces and cool accessories, and Cook and Gaudio receive new items each week. Their website blog even features a stylish “room” made up of current inventory. At the end of the day, these ladies are helping people realize their interior design vision, something that’s important, and comes naturally, to them both. “It’s something fun, and it fills a need,” explains Cook.
